The rise in the number of employee-focused initiatives bolstered their morale and increased their productivity. There are several components that a change agent must consider to successfully initiate community change. First and foremost, the agent must have a creative idea which will make people in that community better . People that identify with these are likely to make good change agents but may require training on influencing, persuading, and negotiating skills. To achieve those objectives, a change agent generally assumes a number of responsibilities — responsibilities that should start once leadership decides to undertake an initiative. That way, a change agent can contribute to the initiative’s implementation strategy and decision-making process.
This allows the listener to engage in what is important to the talker.2 Effective social change agents draw people to them simply by listening. In China, in the 1920s, a Rockefeller Foundation pilot program in Ding Xian trained farmers to record births and deaths, vaccinate for smallpox and other diseases, give first aid, give health education talks, and maintain clean wells. In other countries in the developing world, locals were trained for control of infectious diseases such as diarrhea and malaria. In rural Africa, doctors would train locals to help with surgery. In the United States, health guides were trained to link the health services with black communities. An agent of change is someone who sees a problem in their community, large or small, and does something to take action for substantial change. This person is someone who listens to the people in the community where the issue exists and makes sure that they truly understand the root of the problem before implementing a new idea.
Choosing either an internal or external change agent will depend on the organization and the situation it is in. This role should be actively involved with the transformation, regularly communicating positive messages about it, gaining feedback, and ensuring understanding. This is also true of a change agent, and in some ways, an OCM sponsor is also acting as one of the agents of change. The roles can sometimes be combined, however, an OCM sponsor is often held by a senior figure in the affected organization, whereas a change agent does not require that level of authority. Combining the roles of change agent and OCM sponsor can be problematic, as individuals might to the outside world seem compliant to the changes because of the level of authority of the change agent/OCM sponsor, whilst in reality, they are resistant to the changes. A line manager has direct control over the individuals who work for them.
Making sure that a company has a clear and effective communication style both within and without its own offices can help to create a thriving business model and a more effective workplace environment. In the classroom, I created a space for re-imagining education by placing an explicit focus on leadership development and social justice advocacy. This means that change agents without “formal power” need to focus on building lateral relationships and influencing colleagues. This allows consensus to emerge organically, which may facilitate uptake among decision makers.
Resistance is expected and can be used as a way of passing information. This should not be given time to distract what the change agent wants to achieve . In a given community, a change agent can be anyone who is capable of identifying an issue that needs to be improved and works towards attaining one goal, which is to improve that thing to the betterment of the community. A community change agent seeks to improve or restructure some issues related to the community service provision.
Their passion can be contagious and can actually influence others. Social change agents are effective because they don’t give up and their determination is influential to others. As a result of this new situation, health professionals began to use lay people in the community to deliver health care.

Our youth are agents of change, young people’s inclusion in the peace and security agenda and society more broadly, is key to building and sustaining peace. Their role in the workforce and economic development of our nation is critical as they represent, at any given moment, one-third of the workforce in our country. In these times of change and conflict, young people also have an important role in deterring and solving conflicts and are key constituents in ensuring the success of both peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts.
